Dos tortugas gigantes centenarias, Bibi y Poldi, fueron separadas al cabo de 36 años de vida común debido a que ya no se soportaban, anunció el miércoles la directora del zoológico de Klagenfurt, sur de Austria.
“Al final del otoño, Bibi, la hembra, mordió a Poldi, el macho. Hasta ese día habían convivido siempre de forma pacífica”, explicó a la AFP Elga Happ, directora del zoológico.
“De pronto Bibi no soporta más a Poldi”, comentó Happ.
“Cuando Bibi ataca a Poldi tenemos que intervenir con tomates para distraerla y evitar que suceda algo grave”, señaló Happ.
“El brusco cambio de conducta de Bibi sigue siendo un misterio, quizás tiene que ver con la edad”, dijo la directora, que recordó que tienen 115 años.
