Develan estatua de 1er cosmonauta Yuri Gagarin en Londres

Una estatua del cosmonauta ruso Yuri Gagarin fue develada en Londres, en el 50 aniversario del primer vuelo espacial tripulado por un ser humano.
La estatua, obra del escultor ruso Anatoli Novikov, es un obsequio de la Agencia Espacial Rusa y permanecerá en el lugar durante un año frente al monumento al gran explorador James Cook.
Gagarin orbitó la Tierra durante 108 minutos el 12 de abril de 1961 en la cápsula espacial Vostok I.
Después de esta hazaña, Gagarin visitó Gran Bretaña, donde fue recibido por la reina Isabel II, hace exactamente 50 años. Gagarina dijo que padre estaba "sumamente impresionado" por la recepción que le brindaron los ingleses.
