NASA pospone lanzamiento de naves gemelas a la Luna

Fuertes vientos obligaron este jueves a la NASA a postergar el lanzamiento de dos naves espaciales no tripuladas a la Luna, que orbitarán el satélite terrestre en tándem para medir su campo gravitatorio y diseñar un mapa sin precedentes de su interior.
La próxima opción para el lanzamiento desde Cabo Cañaveral, Florida (sudeste), será el viernes a las 08H33 (12H33 GMT) o 09H12 (13H12 GMT), dijo la agencia espacial estadounidense.
Los investigadores esperan que la misión, conocida como GRAIL (por la sigla en inglés para Recuperación de Gravedad y Laboratorio Interior), responda algunas de las incógnitas sobre el lado oscuro de la Luna, que los humanos nunca exploraron, y también que aporte datos sobre cómo se formaron otros planetas rocosos como la Tierra, Venus, Marte y Mercurio.
Según lo previsto, las naves gemelas alcanzarán la órbita polar de la Luna a fin de año y girarán alrededor del satélite terrestre durante tres meses, utilizando cartografía de la gravedad para revelar su interior.
